Regenerative Bali

Mangroves are one of the top three carbon-capturing ecosystems on Earth, sequestering many times more CO2 than most comparable biomes, including seagrass meadows and dry jungle. What’s more, degraded and destroyed mangroves can be regenerated and restored to full capacity in a markedly short period of time.

Protecting mangrove forests could help countries meet their goals for reducing carbon emissions while providing other ecosystem benefits.

That’s why our Annual Regenerative Action for Bali as our contribution to Climate Neutrality for Travel and Tourism Industry in 2050 involves planting a lot of mangroves.

Mangrove Planting

As a pledge to a Regenerative Bali, on November 18, 2022 we will plant 1000 mangroves in Jimbaran Bay area, in partnership with GYC (Global Youth Conference). Our first Mangrove Planting will be conducted prior to Eco Tourism Week. The mangrove planting program is our contribution to treading the road to 0% Carbon Emission in 2050. This annual program will be funded from ETB Membership.

Coral Restoration

Partnered with Livingseas, ETB will conduct Coral Restoration planting as an annual program, also as part of reaching 0% Carbon Emission in 2050. This annual program will be funded from ETB Membership.
