Acting as a unified voice, BRCA aims to advocate for the culinary scene in Bali and contribute positively to its development. The Wana Segara Kertih Fishermen’s Group in Kedonganan, Badung, was established in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic with a mission to preserve and restore the mangrove forest in the village. Starting with 27 members, the group has grown to 97 members over three years, aiming to provide a collective platform for local fishermen. Led by Chairman I Nyoman Sunarta, the group focuses on the dual mission of preserving fishermen’s cultural heritage and maintaining environmental sustainability. Plans to build bamboo walkways and observation towers in their mangrove forest for fishing and tourism have been envisioned, yet remain unrealized due to funding challenges. The treasurer, I Ketut Sutarma, emphasizes the importance of monitoring in the mangrove planting process and outlines the group’s commitment to eco-friendly utilization for water tourism, ensuring both economic and environmental benefits.
