ACT! Project Talkshow — Impact Stories: Real Benefits of Sustainable Sourcing in Hospitality

As part of The 3rd Series of World Tourism Day 2025: “Tourism and Climate Action”, Eco Tourism Bali proudly hosted the ACT! Project Talkshow in collaboration with Rainforest Alliance and ACT! (Accelerating Consumer Transformation). The session, titled “Impact Stories: Real Benefits of Sustainable Sourcing in Hospitality,” explored how responsible sourcing practices in the hospitality industry can drive meaningful impact for businesses, communities, and the environment.

Moderated by Margarhett Meutia, Manager of Consumer Campaign and Engagement at Rainforest Alliance, the discussion featured three inspiring speakers: I Made Darsana, Head of Lembaga Pengelola Hutan Desa Wanagiri; Agung Widiastuti, Director of Yayasan Kalimajari; Ahmad Hidayat, Commercial Director-APAC Slow Flores and Endy Hermawan, General Manager of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud. Each speaker shared real experiences and success stories that highlighted how sustainability is not just a moral responsibility but also a pathway toward long-term value and resilience in the hospitality sector.

Throughout the session, one message echoed clearly sustainability is not a separate initiative; it is the foundation of how we do business with integrity and care. The stories shared demonstrated that when hospitality brands choose to source locally, empower communities, and prioritize environmental stewardship, they create ripple effects that benefit both people and the planet.

The ACT! Project Talkshow served as a powerful reminder that meaningful change begins with collaboration and conscious decision-making. By turning shared insights into collective action, we can continue shaping a tourism industry that thrives in harmony with nature. Eco Tourism Bali remains committed to driving this movement forward, one sustainable choice at a time.
