The 3rd World Tourism Day: Tourism and Climate Action

A Milestone Toward Climate-Resilient Tourism in Bali. This year’s celebration of World Tourism Day 2025 marked a meaningful step forward for sustainable tourism in Bali. Under the global theme “Tourism & Climate Action,” Eco Tourism Bali proudly hosted the 3rd series of the annual event at The Meru Sanur, bringing together over 300 key stakeholders — from government representatives and hospitality leaders to sustainability advocates and youth changemakers. The objective was clear: to unite voices, ideas, and actions that make tourism part of the climate solution.

Launching Tools for Real Change

A highlight of this year’s event was the launch of two milestone initiatives — the Sustainable Procurement Guideline: Supply Chain Readiness for Climate-Friendly Tourism and the Eco Climate Badge 2.0.

These tools are designed to help tourism businesses take measurable, credible, and impactful steps toward sustainability. From promoting responsible sourcing within the HORECA sector to integrating ESG principles into operations, these initiatives empower businesses to act on climate responsibility not just talk about it. Before the launch, speakers and panelists shared insights on how true sustainability begins with awareness and grows through collective action. Meaningful discussions inspired participants to rethink how business decisions from procurement to partnerships can create positive environmental and social outcomes.

The event also introduced a Business Matching Session, connecting sustainability suppliers with verified tourism businesses to strengthen responsible sourcing and build climate-resilient supply chains across Bali. Eco Tourism Bali extends heartfelt gratitude to all partners, speakers, and participants who joined this year’s celebration and contributed to shaping the future of climate-friendly tourism. Together, we continue to build a tourism ecosystem that thrives in harmony with nature, culture, and community.

We look forward to seeing you next year at World Tourism Day 2026 with even stronger commitments for people, planet, and prosperity.
