An Exciting Update on Our Booking.com Partnership. As part of this process, our Eco Climate Badge onboarding is temporarily on hold. But this is not a setback it’s an important step forward. This pause represents an alignment of visions and strengthens the credibility of the sustainable tourism certification we are building together.
This alignment was also at the heart of a recent meeting at the Booking.com office in Indonesia. We were delighted to have our COO, Rahmi Fajar Harini, and Manager, Mercia Nanlohy, meet with Thomas Loughlin (Sustainability Manager – Supply, Netherlands) and Ayuk (Market Team Manager, Indonesia).
During this meeting, we shared milestones that highlight our commitment to sustainable tourism in Bali and beyond:
- Eco Tourism Bali’s regenerative programs supporting communities and ecosystems
- Our ongoing collaboration with Booking Cares to advance responsible travel initiatives
- Our joint commitment as Signatories of the UNWTO Global Tourism Plastics Initiative
These discussions reaffirm our shared mission: shaping a more sustainable future for tourism. While the temporary pause in onboarding may feel like a delay, it is actually a testament to the strength of the system we are creating. For travelers and partners, this means more credible, transparent, and impactful ways to identify and support eco hotels in Bali and across the globe. By aligning with Booking.com’s evolving framework, we ensure that the Eco Climate Badge remains a trusted guide for those seeking eco-friendly travel in Bali and beyond.
