Eco Tourism Bali at BRCA Luncheon: F&B as a Force of Good

Eco Tourism Bali was honored to join the recent Bali Restaurant & Cafe Association (BRCA) Luncheon, where we shared insights on three important issues shaping the future of tourism and hospitality in Bali: the Sustainable Procurement Guideline (SPG), World Tourism Day (WTD), and Bali’s post-flooding recovery.

The conversation began with the Sustainable Procurement Guideline, a framework that encourages Food & Beverage businesses to make conscious decisions when sourcing ingredients and products. By choosing local, ethical, and environmentally friendly suppliers, the industry can directly support Bali’s farmers, reduce reliance on imports, minimize waste, and lower its overall footprint. Procurement, in this way, becomes more than a business transaction, it becomes a commitment to community and environment.

We also touched on Bali’s post-flooding situation, which serves as a powerful reminder of the climate risks facing our island. Flooding does not only disrupt livelihoods and tourism operations; it highlights the urgent need for resilience. Here, the choices made by F&B businesses, from infrastructure to supply chain, can play a vital role in reducing vulnerability and strengthening the collective capacity of communities.

Finally, we looked ahead to World Tourism Day 2025, a global platform that invites us all to turn awareness into action. For Eco Tourism Bali, this event is an opportunity to showcase our programs, gather industry voices, and inspire practical steps toward sustainability bu business matching with green businesses in the island with hotels and cafes in Bali. It is a call for collaboration because true change requires the participation of businesses, communities, and individuals alike.

As part of the BRCA Board, Eco Tourism Bali firmly believes that the Food & Beverage scene can be a force of good in Bali. Through collaboration, responsible procurement, and shared commitment, we can create an industry that not only delights its guests but also protects the island we all love.

We invite our partners, members, and the wider community to join us in the upcoming World Tourism Day celebrations in August 8th, 2025. Together, let’s build a more resilient, regenerative, and sustainable Bali.
