The 1st Eco Tourism Week is Coming 9 December 2022

An exciting annual gathering for tourism individuals and organizations in Bali will be commenced for the first time in just a matter of days. Organized by Eco-Tourism Bali, and supported by Angels & Founders and Bali Investment Club, Eco Tourism Week (ETW) will bring into highlight the latest development and best practices in Travel and Tourism industry as a collective effort to achieve the long-term goal of Climate Neutrality by 2050.

As the sector’s recovery gets underway and building on unprecedented pandemic, climate crisis, and social challenges, Eco Tourism Week will focus on the opportunities to rethink how we do tourism.

9 December 2022 will mark the first Eco Tourism Week event ever held, and will also be the official launch of Eco Tourism Bali (ETB), a platform for environmentally and socially concerned communities coming together through sustainable tourism practices. ETB was founded as a social enterprise that thrives to work and collaborate with every tourism stakeholder in Bali to make it a preferred sustainable tourism destination by 2030.

The Eco Tourism Bali platform is built by the community, for the community. It introduces an innovative Badge system as an indicator of the level of understanding concepts and implementing the practices of Sustainability in every aspect of business.

The badge is obtained through a verification process, which at the initial launch, will be available for hotels/accommodation businesses. For the following stage, the coverage will be expanded to reach larger segment in the industry, primarily Restaurants businesses.

So, if you are in hotel or accommodation business, this is your perfect opportunity to raise the bar and comply with global standards of sustainable hospitality services.

This one-day celebration will bring together stakeholders from every part of tourism’s industry – from political and private sector leaders to community representatives, and youth and sustainable-focused startups, featuring several exciting programs:

ETW 2022 will put environment and people at the center of key discussions such as: Where is tourism going? Where do we want to go? And how do we get there?

Startup Pitch Competition and More

We are on the lookout for two startups who can come up with innovative Solution for Tourism Business practicing Sustainability Components. These startups are expected to demonstrate their success story, provide metrics, and the impact of their programs. There will two categories of winner: Most Impactful (for startups that have been founded for more than 2 years) and Most Innovative.

Lastly, let’s not forget about the Mangrove Planting activity on the 18th November 2022 hosted by Eco Tourism Bali (ETB) & Global Youth Conference (GYC) at Wana Segara Kertih, Kedonganan, Bali. As a pledge to a Regenerative Bali, we will plant 1000 mangroves in Jimbaran Bay area. The mangrove planting program is our contribution to treading the road to 0% Carbon Emission in 2050.
